In order for applicants to qualify for employment, they must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age (unarmed positions).

  • Be at least 21 years of age (armed positions).

  • Be a U.S. resident.

  • Possess at least an Associate's Degree within the Criminal Justice major.

  • Have a valid driver's license.

  • Have no prior felony convictions or misdemeanors involving violence, drug use, fraud, or theft.

  • Be in decent physical condition.

  • Be of good moral character.

  • Be fluent in the English language.

  • Successfully pass employment background checks, including criminal history checks and drug testing.

  • Have at least 2 years of experience in professional security, law enforcement, or U.S. military.

*Armed security guards must complete a qualifying course, both initially and every year thereafter once employed. This includes 4 hours of training that covers firearms technique and safety, laws, and moral/ethical issues regarding use of force.

Physical Fitness Requirements:

  • 1.5 mile run (male) in 14:06 (20th percentile), 12:53 (35th percentile).

  • 1.5 mile run (female) in 16:46 (20th percentile), 15:14 (35th percentile).

  • Push-ups: (male) 22 (20th percentile), 27 (35th percentile).

  • Push-ups: (female) 17 (mod) 10 (FB) (20th percentile), 22 (mod) 14 (FB) (35th percentile).

  • Sit-ups in 1 minute: (male) 33 (20th percentile), 37 (35th percentile).

  • Sit-ups in 1 minute: (female) 24 (20th percentile), 31 (35th percentile).

*Push-ups and sit-ups must be performed within 60 seconds, in the proper form.
